Hello Everyone!

I have decided to post yet another entry because of a couple of issues which have been brought to my attention. However, in this entry i will just be touching on one very very very obvious issue; Elites & Potential Elites.

Here's just to give a clearer view for everyone (whether you are in the club or not).

When i first stepped into the club, i noticed a group of students who shared a common love for this thing called dance. But what i noticed was also that each dancer had an individual style, strength and weakness. I decided to then train the club in a way that each student can accept each other's strength, style and work to help each other up on their weakness.

When the sec one students came for the audition. Due to the limit of student intake, i was only able to take the selected few. Get me right, for those who came for the audition, it is not because i think that you are not good enough or lousy to not have gotten into the club, but it was really because of the limit of students i had to take it. It was a very difficult decision for Ms Ng, Mr X and me. If we could take in everyone who came, we would have. But the school did not give us the opportunity to do so.

As i began to train both seniors and juniors, i began to see that there segmentation. Segmentation meaning that there were a group of students who could catch faster and others who needed more time. So for one of the session i did an experiment, by conducting a assessment to assess each student.

The first assessment, was during CNY. and when Mr Eugene came down, he set aside a group of 8 students who would have been classified as the Elites. We did not reveal this group out because i had to assess each of the 8 students on their character. It took me some time and a couple of weeks and months before i finally confirmed the Elite team.

The whole purpose of the Elite team was to train up these students to represent the entire dance team for shows, events and even competition. They would be the ones who set the benchmark for the rest of the dancers to attain at the end of the day. But like i mention to each student, the Elite team will not stand as 8 students only, if i happen to see other potential students. Thus a few months later i decided to adjust and did up a completely new group that consist of the Elites & potential Elites.

The reason why i did this was because (as said earlier) there were dancers who could catch steps faster than others and others who needed more time. i wanted to focus on teaching basics and building a dance foundation and techniques for students who needed a longer time to catch steps. The key was to getting the basics and techniques right so that it would be faster for them to catch in the future.

This is the main reason why i segemented the group into the Elites & potential and the normal students. It was of no intention to deem them as lousy or CMI, because i have seen the potential in everyone of them.

So this entry was written to let you know the reason for my decisions.
Currently now, i am working of pushing up the level of all the dancers, so that everyone would be of the same level and that all of them can take part in performing.

I have never doubted in any of their abilities and i strongly believe that each of them alot of potential within them.

I hope this clears all misunderstandings between each dancer as well as to all those who have left a comment on this issue.
